The balanced route from 1 to 225 takes 19 steps and costs about 128 gold at current prices. Start with Rough Sharpening Stone, switch to Heavy Sharpening Stone by 100 and Heavy Mithril Pants by 200, and finish with Mithril Spurs. Learn Journeyman Blacksmith by 75 and Expert Blacksmith by 150, or the skill stops rising.
