Operator: Alexander Bangert
Contact: info@foreverdb.app
Legal notice: /en/legal/imprint

  1. Scope and operator
    These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern the use of ForeverDB (“ForeverDB”, “we”, “us”), including its website, accounts, community features, character profiles (the “Armory”), and related software and upload services.
    ForeverDB is operated by Alexander Bangert, In der Auen 117, 51427 Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. Contact details and legally required provider information are available in our Legal Notice.
    By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. Certain publicly accessible features may be used without an account. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed; it is not replaced by these Terms.

  2. Services and availability
    ForeverDB is an independent, unofficial information and community platform for video games, initially focused on World of Warcraft: Forever. Features may include game-data lookups, maps, talent planners, leveling and profession tools, news, community submissions, and public character profiles.
    We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue individual features for operational, security, technical, or legal reasons, subject to applicable law. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that community-collected data will always be complete, current, or accurate. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
    Unless explicitly stated otherwise, use of the services covered by these Terms is free of charge. Optional donations do not purchase additional rights or guarantees under these Terms. Any future paid features will be subject to clearly disclosed additional terms and conditions before purchase.

  3. Accounts and sign-in
    You may create an account using an email verification code or available third-party sign-in providers, such as Battle.net or Discord. If a provider is not yet linked to your account, you may be asked to link an existing ForeverDB account or create a new one.
    You must provide accurate information required for account operation and take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account to the extent permitted by law. Notify us at info@foreverdb.app if you suspect misuse.
    Display names may be required to be unique. You must not impersonate others or use names that infringe third-party rights.

  4. Community contributions
    ForeverDB may allow you to submit screenshots, text, corrections, or other materials (“Contributions”). You must have the rights necessary to submit your Contributions and must not upload unlawful, misleading, abusive, malicious, or rights-infringing material, or personal data about other people without an appropriate basis.
    You retain any rights you hold in your original Contributions. To operate ForeverDB, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, for the applicable duration of the rights, to store, reproduce, technically adapt, display, distribute and make your Contributions available as necessary to provide, maintain and improve the service. This includes creating previews, thumbnails, search indexes, and backups. This licence does not grant us ownership of your Contributions.
    We may review, restrict or remove Contributions and, where proportionate, restrict accounts when necessary to address suspected violations of these Terms, third-party rights or applicable law. Applicable notification, explanation, and appeal requirements remain unaffected.
    Important: Game content, names, images and trademarks may belong to their respective rights holders. You cannot grant rights you do not own. The licence above applies only to rights you can lawfully grant.

  5. ForeverCollect and the ForeverDB Uploader
    ForeverCollect is an in-game addon and the ForeverDB Uploader is a companion application. Together, they may record and transmit game observations, such as quest interactions, loot and drop observations, merchants, trainers, gathering locations, and associated character context.
    Uploads may contain character information recorded by the addon, including class, race, faction, level, character name and realm. Before observations are stored in the shared observation database, character names and realms are removed from those observations. Processing of personal data, retention and technical safeguards are described in the Privacy Policy.
    By enabling uploads, you allow ForeverDB to process submitted observations to build and improve aggregated game information, maps, statistics and tools. Aggregated or appropriately de-identified game observations may continue to be used to operate the shared database after you stop uploading or close your account, to the extent permitted by applicable law and without limiting statutory data-protection rights.
    The addon and uploader are distributed separately under the licences published with their source code. These Terms do not supersede those open-source licences.

  6. Armory profiles and visibility
    The Armory allows supported character information to appear on public ForeverDB character pages. Armory uploads are disabled by default in the ForeverCollect addon.
    When you enable Armory uploads in the addon, supported profiles uploaded through that feature become publicly accessible after processing. The addon does not provide per-character or per-field publication choices at upload time: enabling the feature applies to the supported character data it uploads.
    After upload, you can hide individual characters through your ForeverDB account settings. Hiding a character removes its public profile from normal public display but does not by itself reverse a completed upload or necessarily delete stored data. We will explain applicable deletion options and retention periods in the Privacy Policy. Public pages may have been cached or copied by third parties before they were hidden.
    Hidden characters must remain hidden after subsequent uploads unless the account holder explicitly makes them public again. Confirm this behavior before publication.
    You must not knowingly publish characters you do not control or misuse the Armory to impersonate another person. We may temporarily hide disputed profiles while reviewing a report.

  7. Accuracy, advice and third-party content
    ForeverDB combines information from game clients, community reports, observations and editorial material. Drop rates, locations, quest data, talent information, prices and optimization results may be incomplete, inferred, outdated, or based on limited observations. They are provided for informational purposes, not as guaranteed outcomes.
    Links to external sites and third-party sign-in services are provided for convenience. The relevant third parties govern their own services and privacy practices.

  8. Acceptable use
    You agree not to:

    • interfere with the security, performance or availability of ForeverDB;

    • attempt unauthorized access to other accounts, systems or data;

    • submit malware, automated spam, fraudulent observations or deliberately manipulated contributions;

    • use the service to harass, impersonate or unlawfully expose others;

    • infringe intellectual-property rights or circumvent access restrictions;

    • overload or systematically extract content in ways that materially disrupt the service or violate applicable law.
      Automated access, integrations and use of published APIs must comply with any applicable technical limits and documented API terms. Nothing in these Terms restricts rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.

  9. Intellectual property and unofficial status
    ForeverDB's original software, design, editorial content and branding are protected to the extent provided by applicable law. Use of the website does not transfer ownership of these materials.
    World of Warcraft and related names, game assets and trademarks belong to Blizzard Entertainment or their respective owners. ForeverDB is an independent, unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment.
    References to game content do not imply ownership of third-party intellectual property.

  10. Account closure and moderation
    You may stop using ForeverDB at any time and may request account closure using /en/profile or by contacting info@foreverdb.app. What happens to your personal data and public profiles is explained in our Privacy Policy and is subject to applicable legal obligations.
    We may restrict or terminate access for serious or repeated violations of these Terms, security risks, or unlawful conduct, subject to applicable law, proportionality and any notice or appeal obligations that apply.

  11. Liability
    We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health attributable to us, and in other cases where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
    For ordinary negligence involving a material contractual obligation, liability is limited, where legally permissible, to foreseeable damage typical of the contract. Mandatory consumer rights and statutory liability provisions remain unaffected.
    We do not guarantee that game observations, community information or recommendations are correct or suitable for any particular in-game result. This does not limit mandatory statutory rights.

  12. Changes to these Terms
    We may revise these Terms when necessary to reflect changes in the service, legal requirements, or security needs. Where required, we will notify affected account holders in advance and obtain agreement rather than treating silence as consent. Changes will not retroactively remove mandatory rights.
    The current version and its effective date will be available on ForeverDB.

  13. Applicable law and dispute resolution
    German law applies to the extent permitted by applicable conflict-of-law rules. Consumers retain the protection of mandatory provisions of the law applicable at their habitual residence where required by law.

  14. Contact
    Questions about these Terms, reports of unlawful content, and account-related concerns can be sent to info@foreverdb.app. Additional statutory contact or notice-and-action mechanisms, if required, will be provided separately.
